RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Negueba scored a second-half equalizer as Mirassol drew 1-1 at home against Cruzeiro in Brazil's Serie A on Monday.
The visitor took the lead in the fifth minute when Kaio Jorge controlled Matheus Pereira's cross before rifling a shot past goalkeeper Walter Artune.
The 23-year-old former Juventus forward has now scored 14 goals in 19 top-flight fixtures this season.
Negueba put the host on level terms just after the hour by cutting inside his marker and curling a shot into the top corner.
Mirassol dominated the final stages but could not find a way past veteran goalkeeper Cassio.
The result leaves Cruzeiro third in Brazil's 20-team league standings with 38 points, five behind leader Flamengo.
Mirassol - promoted from Serie B last year - is sixth with 29 points. ■
