MADRID, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid has a problem at right back after the club confirmed that Spain international Dani Carvajal will be out of action for around a month with a calf injury he suffered in Saturday's 5-2 thrashing by Atletico Madrid.
"Following tests carried out today on Dani Carvajal by Real Madrid's medical department, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored," confirmed the Real website.
That means coach Xabi Alonso will be without him for La Liga games against Villarreal and Getafe and perhaps for the 'Clasico' against FC Barcelona on October 26th.
Carvajal is suspended for Tuesday's long Champions League trip to visit Kairat, and he will also miss the home match against Juventus on October 22nd.
The veteran's injury leaves Alonso without a specialist right back in his squad as Trent Alexander Arnold is also out of action with a hamstring injury that will also sideline him for at least another month, meaning central defender Raul Asencio will have to cover, although Alonso has named B-team player David Jimenez in his squad for Tuesday. ■
