FUKUOKA, Japan, July 30 (silubaba) -- Tunisia's Ahmed Hafnaoui claimed his second gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships as he added the 1,500m freestyle title to his 800m victory on Sunday.
The 21-year-old, the Tokyo Olympic champion in 400m freestyle, finished the longest indoor race in an African record of 14 minutes and 31.54 seconds.
The time is also the fastest record in world championships history.
Bobby Finke of the United States, the double Olympic champion in 800m and 1,500m, finished second in 14:31.59, which is an American record.
The 400m freestyle gold winner Samuel Short of Australia placed third in 14:37.28. ■
