RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Carlo Ancelotti has suggested he could continue as Brazil manager beyond the 2026 FIFA World Cup, saying his family has settled well in Rio de Janeiro.
The 66-year-old Italian took charge of the five-time World Cup champion in May on a contract that runs until July 2026.
He said he would be open to extending the deal through to the 2030 tournament, which will be co-hosted by Morocco, Portugal and Spain, with some matches in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
"I signed a one-year contract. After the World Cup, everything is open," Ancelotti said. "I have no problem if the CBF wants to continue. I'm very happy here, my family is happy too. We have time to talk about it. It would be nice [to stay until 2030]."
Ancelotti, the first foreigner to coach Brazil, won 15 trophies in two spells at Real Madrid. He is the only manager to win league titles in Italy, Spain, England, France and Germany, and the only coach with five Champions League titles: three with Real Madrid and two with AC Milan.
Brazil has so far recorded two victories, one draw and one defeat under Ancelotti. ■
